Supported CRMs

Import it from Contacts in HubSpot. It matches these headers to contact properties, and uses Email to avoid creating the same contact twice.

Data Cleaning Options

  • Split full names, or join first and last, to fit the CRM
  • Write the CRM's own import headers
  • Leave out empty rows
  • Count rows missing a required field

Duplicates and messy phone numbers come along as they are. Clean the list first

How to format a CSV for a CRM import

How do I format a contact list for a CRM import?

Use one row of headers named after the CRM’s fields and one contact per row. Pick your CRM above and drop the list: the formatter guesses which of your columns fills each field, lets you change any of them, and writes a CSV whose headers match that CRM’s import fields.

The import headers written for each CRM
CRMEach row becomes aHeaders in the file
HubSpotcontactFirst Name, Last Name, Email, Phone Number, Mobile Phone Number, Company Name, Job Title, Website URL, Street Address, City, State/Region, Postal Code, Country/Region, Industry
SalesforceleadFirst Name, Last Name (required), Company (required), Title, Email, Phone, Mobile, Website, Street, City, State/Province, Zip/Postal Code, Country, Industry, Description
PipedrivepersonPerson - Name (required), Person - Email, Person - Phone, Person - Job title, Organization - Name, Organization - Address, Organization - Website

Each CRM still shows its own mapping screen when you import. Check it there before you confirm: it is where you can change how any column is matched.

How it works

How the CRM import formatter works

  1. 1

    Pick your CRM

HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive. Each has its own field names, and the file is written with them.

  2. 2

Drop your list and check the columns

We guess which of your columns fills each CRM field, with an example value beside it. Change any guess with its dropdown.

  3. 3

    Download and import

A CSV with your CRM's headers, one contact per row. Rows missing a field the CRM requires are counted for you first.

FAQ

CRM imports: questions

Is my file uploaded?

No. Your browser reads the file and writes the new one on your own device. Nothing is sent to LeadQuasar, to the CRM or to anyone else, and closing the tab discards it.

What if it guesses a column wrong?

Change it. Every CRM field has a dropdown listing all of your columns, plus “Leave empty”, and an example value from your first row so you can see what will go in. The guess is only a starting point, read from your column headers.

Why does it split or join names?

HubSpot and Salesforce keep first and last names in separate fields, so a single full-name column is split: titles such as Dr. are dropped and “Smith, John” is read the right way round. Pipedrive takes one Name per person, so separate first and last name columns are joined.

Why are some rows flagged for Salesforce?

Salesforce needs a Last Name and a Company on every lead and will not import a row without them. The formatter counts how many rows are missing each one before you download, so you can fill them in or map a different column first.

Does it remove duplicates or fix phone numbers?

No. It moves your data into the right columns as it is. If the list has duplicates, messy phone numbers or badly written emails, run it through the free Contact List Cleaner first, then format the clean file here.

What happens to columns my CRM has no field for?

Only the fields listed for the CRM you picked are written. A column such as Rating or Notes from another tool is left out, rather than creating custom properties you did not ask for. To bring one across, add it to the downloaded file and map it on your CRM's import screen.

Can I use it for a CRM that is not listed?

Most CRM importers let you match any column to any field. The HubSpot file uses plain names (First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone Number, Company Name), which are easy to match in most other CRMs' import screens.

How big a file can it format?

Up to 10 MB and 100,000 rows per file, CSV or Excel (.xlsx). Split a larger list into parts and format each one.
