Only correctly written addresses are kept. It does not contact any mail server, so it cannot say whether a mailbox exists: check one with the Email Verifier.

How to extract email addresses
How do I extract email addresses from text or a PDF?
Paste the text into the box above, or drop the file. The extractor finds every address, merges repeats regardless of capital letters, and lists each one once with how many times it appeared. Copy the list or download it as CSV. PDFs are read in your browser too; a scanned PDF needs text recognition (OCR) first.
| It | What that means |
|---|---|
| Finds | Every correctly written address anywhere in the text, including inside mailto: links. In a PDF it also reads the targets of email links, which often say only “Email us” on the page. |
| Also finds | Addresses written to dodge scrapers, such as name [at] site [dot] com, name(at)site(dot)com, or with HTML codes for @, when that option is ticked. |
| Counts | Each address once, ignoring capital letters, with how many times it appeared. |
| Marks | Role addresses such as info@, sales@ and support@, which reach a shared inbox rather than a person. |
| Skips | Things shaped like an address that are not one: image names such as logo@2x.png, version strings such as tool@1.2.3, and anything without a proper domain ending. |
How the email extractor works
- 1
Paste text or drop a file
An email thread, a web page, a spreadsheet or a PDF. Your browser reads it on your device.
- 2
Extract
Every address is found, tidied to lowercase and counted, and repeats are merged into one line.
- 3
Copy or download
Copy the whole list in one click, or download a CSV with each address, its domain and how often it appeared.
Email extraction: questions
Is my text or file uploaded?
No. Your browser reads what you paste or drop and finds the addresses on your own device. Nothing is sent to LeadQuasar or to anyone else, and closing the tab discards it. The only things the page downloads are its own code, including the PDF reader when you drop a PDF.
Which files can it read?
Plain text (.txt), CSV and TSV, Excel .xlsx (every sheet), and PDF files that contain text. Other plain-text files such as .html, .vcf, .json or .eml work too. For a Word document, save it as PDF or copy its text into the box. Older .xls files need saving as .xlsx first.
Can it read a scanned PDF?
No. A scanned page is a picture of text, with no text inside the file to read. Run the PDF through OCR (text recognition) first, or copy the text out of a viewer that recognises it, and paste that in.
Does it remove duplicate addresses?
Yes. Jane@Acme.com and jane@acme.com are the same address, so each one appears once, in lowercase, with a count of how many times it was found. You can list them in the order found, A to Z, or grouped by domain.
Does it check that the addresses are real?
It keeps only addresses that are written correctly, and marks role inboxes. It does not contact any mail server, so it cannot say whether a mailbox exists. For that, check an address with the free Email Verifier; to tidy a whole list with names and phone numbers, use the Contact List Cleaner.
Can it extract emails from a website?
Not from a link: it reads only what you give it. Open the page, select all, copy and paste it into the box. Addresses that appear only as mailto: links are in the page source rather than its visible text, so paste the source if the visible text has none.
Is there a limit?
Up to 10 MB of pasted text, or one file up to 10 MB at a time. The screen shows the first 500 addresses; Copy all and the CSV download always include every one.
