Why your ICP decides everything downstream

Every hour of prospecting, every credit you spend and every email you send is an argument that a particular kind of company should buy from you. Your ICP is that argument, written down.

Stop spraying, start targeting

A vague ICP produces a vague list, and a vague list produces the 0.5% reply rate that makes people give up on outbound entirely.

Grounded in real data

This isn't a blank ICP template. The categories come from the 180+ industries we actually hold contacts for, so your profile is addressable on day one.

Sized before you spend

You see the total addressable count — and what share carry an email or a phone — before you commit a single credit or a single hour.

How the ICP generator works

  1. Step 1

    Describe your business

One sentence — what you sell and who buys it. No forms, no questionnaire, no account.

  2. Step 2

    AI builds the profile

It maps your description onto the 165 real industries in our database and infers the buyer titles who sign off on the purchase.

  3. Step 3

    See the matching leads

A live count of the contacts we hold that fit your ICP — how many have a verified email, a direct phone, a LinkedIn, and where they are.

Ideal customer profiles — frequently asked questions

What is an ideal customer profile (ICP)?

An ideal customer profile describes the type of company that gets the most value from what you sell — and therefore buys fastest, stays longest and complains least. It is a description of an organisation, not a person: industry, size, location, and the situation that makes your product urgent for them. A buyer persona sits inside the ICP and describes the individual you actually email — their job title, what they are measured on, and what they care about. You need both, but the ICP comes first: it decides which companies are worth contacting at all.

How do I create an ICP?

The classic method is to look backwards. List your best 10–20 customers — best meaning fastest to close, highest retention, most expansion — and look for what they share: industry, headcount, geography, tooling, and the trigger event that made them start looking. Whatever repeats is your ICP. Then invert it: list the customers who churned or never converted, and write down the disqualifiers. If you don't yet have enough customers to pattern-match, start from the problem you solve and ask which category of business feels it most acutely — which is exactly what this generator does from a one-sentence description.

Is this ICP generator really free?

Yes — three free ICP reports per day, no account and no credit card. Each run costs us real money in AI compute, which is the only reason there is a daily cap at all. You get the full report: your ICP headline and summary, the buyer titles to target, the matching industries, and the live count of contacts in our database that fit. Nothing is held back behind an email form.

How does the AI build my ICP?

You describe your business in plain English (for example, 'we sell roofing software to residential contractors in Texas'). The AI reads that and maps it onto the 165 real industry categories that exist in the LeadQuasar database, then infers the buyer titles who typically sign off on that kind of purchase. It is deliberately constrained to categories we actually hold data for — so the ICP it produces is not a nice-sounding abstraction, it is a profile you can immediately turn into a list of real contacts.

Why can't I see the names of the matching leads?

The preview cards show you real records from our database with the identifying fields deliberately withheld — you can see each lead's quality score, data tier, city, and which channels are on file (verified email, direct phone, LinkedIn), but the name, company, email and phone are never sent to the browser. That is a privacy decision, not a paywall trick: we don't hand out contact data to anonymous visitors. Create a free account and you can search the whole database, then unlock the specific contacts you want with credits.

How specific should my business description be?

One clear sentence beats a paragraph of positioning. Name what you sell and who buys it — 'payroll software for restaurants', 'commercial insurance for trucking firms', 'SEO for law firms'. If you sell to several segments, run the tool once per segment; you will usually find one has far more addressable volume than the others, which is itself a useful answer.

Turn your ICP into a contact list

A profile is only useful if there are people behind it. Ours are already in the database — scored, tiered and ready to unlock.
