How to check keyword search volume

Keyword search volume is how many times a month people type a search into Google. KeywordQuasar reads it for one place at a time, so you see the demand where you actually sell, not a national total.

  1. 1. Type a keyword

A service or product people search for: "plumber", "roof repair", "dentist".

  2. 2. Type a place

A city, county, state or a whole country. If the name matches more than one place, pick yours.

  3. 3. Read the numbers

Monthly Google searches and keyword ideas and, by plan, what a click costs and Bing's figures.

  4. 4. See who to sell to

How many of those businesses are in the place on LeadQuasar; on Pro and up, the lead list in one click.

Google search volume, cost per click and keyword ideas

Every part of a result, what it tells you and where it comes from. Google’s figure is the average month for the place; under 10 searches a month it says “Fewer than 10” rather than a 0. Bids are in the Google Ads account’s currency, shown beside them.

Local keyword research, with the businesses to sell to

A keyword tool tells you there is demand. If you sell to businesses, such as websites, SEO or ads for plumbers, the next question is who to sell to. Under every result KeywordQuasar counts the businesses of that kind in the same place on LeadQuasar. On Pro and up it also shows how many have no website and how many have an email, with the list one click away.

Pro and up also lists the best cities for the niche, where LeadQuasar has the most of those businesses, so you can pick a city with demand and with enough businesses to pitch.

A search volume checker for any country

The search volume checker works anywhere Google Ads can target, in Google’s 51 languages. Each search is asked in the place’s main language unless you pick another, because the same service has different words and different numbers in each one.

  • A city, a county, a state or region, or a whole country.
  • Google Trends for the past 12 months, on every plan.
  • Also looking for businesses with no website? Businesses without websites counts them by country and industry.

KeywordQuasar questions

Where do KeywordQuasar's numbers come from?

Monthly searches, cost per click, competition and keyword ideas are Google Ads Keyword Planner data, asked from Google for the place and language you pick. Bing searches are Bing Webmaster data. The businesses to sell to are counted from LeadQuasar's business database of 9.7 million+ records. Every figure is the source's own, not adjusted or rounded up by LeadQuasar.

How is it different from Google Keyword Planner?

The search numbers are the same Google Ads Keyword Planner data. Keyword Planner needs a Google Ads account and shows wide ranges to accounts that aren't spending; KeywordQuasar shows Google's monthly figure with no account. It also adds what Keyword Planner can't: how many businesses of that kind are in the place, how many have no website or an email, and the list of them.

Which countries and languages does it cover?

Any country Google Ads can target, down to a city, county or state. Each search is asked in the place's main language unless you pick another of Google's 51 under More options, because Google counts "plumber" and "Klempner" in Berlin separately. Business counts cover the countries in LeadQuasar's database; elsewhere the tool says so.

Is it free, and how many searches do I get?

3 searches a day are free with no account, the same on a free account. Paid plans get 20 a day on Pro, 50 on Plus and 100 on Max, with cost per click, more keyword ideas, Bing, the best cities for a niche, compare and CSV, by plan.

What does a number with a "+" mean?

At least that many. When a niche has more businesses in a place than we count in one go, we stop counting and show the figure reached with a "+", so a number is never above the real one.

Does it work for any city?

Yes, any city Google Ads can target, in any country. When a name matches more than one place, such as Springfield, you pick which one. A small place may have very few searches for a keyword: under 10 a month, the tool says "Fewer than 10 searches a month" rather than showing a 0.

Why is the Bing number different from Google's?

They measure different things. Google's figure is the average month for the place you picked; Bing's is Bing Webmaster data, the searches on Bing over the last four weeks across the whole country, and for the keyword typed with the city. Bing is on Plus and Max.

Is there a KeywordQuasar API?

Yes, in beta: the KeywordQuasar API returns the same report as JSON, from your own code, with Google's searches, ideas, cost per click, Bing, the businesses there and a Google Trends link. During the beta LeadQuasar issues keys on request; at launch it is part of Max.

Can I share a result?

Yes. Copy link to this result gives a link with your search in it, which opens this tool for anyone, signed in or not, and shows the result in its preview on WhatsApp, LinkedIn, X or Slack. Opening the link runs the search, so it counts toward that person's searches for the day.

Then get the lead list

A free account shows the email and phone of 50 leads a day, no card. Pro and up adds the lead list behind every search, and KeywordQuasar is in the app too, under SEO & Website.
