LeadQuasar lists 152 haulage and trucking businesses in the UK as of September 2026. 150 of them have a phone number and 37 (24%) have an email address, so you will be calling far more than emailing. It is a small, new list spread over 10 cities, with the North West and Yorkshire and the Humber carrying the most firms.
Haulage is a phone business
UK hauliers are mostly owner-run firms with a yard, a handful of lorries and a small office. The owner often still plans loads, and in some firms still drives. The office phone gets answered because that is how work comes in. An email from a stranger does not get the same treatment.
The data says the same. 150 of the 152 records have a phone number, and 145 (95%) have a website, but only 37 have an email address. Treat email as the follow-up after a call, not the opener.
Who decides in a haulage firm
Two roles matter.
- The owner or managing director. In a small firm, this is the buyer for almost everything: trucks, trailers, fuel, insurance and finance.
- The transport manager. A haulier carrying goods for other people has to name one on its operator's licence, and that person answers for keeping vehicles and drivers compliant. Anything that touches maintenance records, tachographs, driver hours or safety checks goes through them, even when the owner signs.
When you call, ask for the transport manager by role if you sell compliance or fleet tools, and for the owner if you sell anything with a large price or a long contract. In the smallest firms you will find the same person does both.
Where the firms are
| Region | Businesses | With phone | With email |
|---|---|---|---|
| North West | 40 | 39 | 9 |
| Yorkshire and the Humber | 34 | 33 | 7 |
| London | 20 | 20 | 4 |
| West Midlands | 18 | 18 | 6 |
| Scotland | 17 | 17 | 6 |
| East Midlands | 15 | 15 | 3 |
| South West | 8 | 8 | 2 |
The biggest city groups are Manchester (23), London (20), Leeds (19), Birmingham (18) and Liverpool (17), with Leicester, Glasgow and Sheffield on 15 each. The North West and Yorkshire together hold nearly half the list, which makes the Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Sheffield belt the natural place to start a calling run.
Only the North West has its own region page so far. A region needs 40 businesses in one niche before it gets a page, so the others show on the UK trucking page until they grow.
When to call
Haulage offices are busiest at the two ends of the day: early morning when lorries go out, and late afternoon when tomorrow's loads get planned. Late morning and early afternoon are when the owner or transport manager has time to talk.
Avoid Fridays after lunch, when the office is chasing paperwork and paying drivers. Month-end is also heavy, because invoices go out and cash is tight until customers pay.
What UK hauliers buy
- Fuel cards and fuel management. Fuel is the cost every haulier watches, so savings pitches get a hearing if they are specific.
- Telematics and tachograph analysis. Tracking, driver hours, infringements and reports for the transport manager.
- Maintenance and inspections. Workshops, mobile mechanics, tyres and inspection scheduling.
- Trucks and trailers. Leasing, contract hire and used vehicle sales.
- Insurance. Fleet, goods in transit and liability.
- Drivers. HGV driver recruitment and agency cover.
- Cash flow. Invoice finance, since hauliers often wait weeks to be paid for a job they fuelled up front.
Lead with one concrete problem. "We cut tachograph infringement reports to one page a week" beats "we help transport businesses grow".

- Book callbacks for the "ring me next month" answers.
