LeadQuasar lists 278 logistics businesses in the UK as of September 2026. 275 of them (99%) have a phone number, but only 90 (32%) have an email address, so this is a phone-first list. It is new and still growing, and it is concentrated: London and the North West hold more than half of it.
What is in the UK list
These are freight forwarders, logistics companies and freight and cargo firms. Most listings (212) carry the category "freight and cargo service", and a handful are labelled freight forwarding agencies (7) or shipping centres (6). A few storage and distribution businesses sit at the edges.
Every record is a business listing with the company name and category, plus the address, phone, website and email where the listing has them. There are no named contacts or job titles. You reach the business and ask for the person who buys, which in a firm this size is usually easy to find.
The website is your best research tool here, and 268 records (96%) have one. Two minutes on it tells you what kind of firm you are calling: an air and sea forwarder, a road freight operator with its own yard, a warehousing and fulfilment business, or a small agency that books everything out. Those four buy very different things.
Where the firms are
| Region | Businesses | With phone | With email |
|---|---|---|---|
| London | 88 | 88 | 35 |
| North West | 73 | 70 | 22 |
| West Midlands | 37 | 37 | 15 |
| Yorkshire and the Humber | 29 | 29 | 6 |
| South West | 19 | 19 | 2 |
| Scotland | 18 | 18 | 6 |
| East Midlands | 14 | 14 | 4 |
By city, London leads with 88, then Manchester (51), Birmingham (37), Liverpool (22), Bristol (19), Leeds (19) and Leicester (14). Glasgow, Sheffield and Edinburgh have smaller groups.
Look at the email column before you plan anything. London has an address for 35 of its 88 firms. Yorkshire and the Humber has 6 of 29, and the South West 2 of 19. Outside London and the North West, email is not a channel; the phone is.
Why the phone wins in UK freight
A forwarding office runs on quotes, bookings and clearances, and most of that still happens on the phone. The shared inbox is where rate requests pile up, and a cold email lands in the middle of them. A call at a sensible time reaches a person who can tell you in one sentence whether the right buyer is in the building.
Some timing that helps:
- Skip the early morning. That is when collections get booked and drivers get sent out. Mid-morning, once the day is moving, is better.
- Avoid Friday afternoons and month-end. Desks are clearing loads and invoices.
- Sell before peak, not during it. The run-up to Christmas is the busiest stretch for freight and fulfilment. Get your conversations going in the quieter months before it.
Who to ask for depends on size. In a small firm, ask for the managing director or owner; they sign everything. In a larger one, the operations manager owns the tools and suppliers the desk uses, and the finance director owns anything to do with cash.
What UK logistics firms buy
- Customs help. Moving goods between the UK and the EU now means customs declarations, so customs software, brokerage partners and training all get a hearing, especially with smaller forwarders.
- Transport and warehouse software. TMS, WMS, tracking and proof-of-delivery tools.
- Insurance. Goods in transit, freight liability and fleet cover.
- Vehicles and equipment. Van and HGV leasing, racking, forklifts and packaging.
- Cash flow. Forwarders often pay carriers before their own customers pay them, which makes invoice finance a real conversation.
- People. Drivers, warehouse staff and experienced freight and customs staff.
Open with the specific pain. A forwarder who has just had a shipment held at the border will listen to a customs pitch; the same person will hang up on a general "partnership" call.
A plan for the first week
- Browse UK logistics leads and filter by region or city. Searching and filtering are free.
- Start where the data is densest. London and the North West give you the most firms to call in the fewest calling sessions.
- Read each website to sort forwarders from road freight and warehousing, and match your pitch to the type.
- Call first. Ask for the owner or the operations manager by role.
- Follow up by email with the 90 firms that have an address, and mention the call.
- Log a callback date for everyone who says "not now", and keep it.
